AP Biology
Test: DNA
The DNA Test grades have been posted
- Retakes for the Genetics test and DNA test will be at 12:00 on Monday and Tuesday
Transcription/Translation video project
videos uploaded to vimeo.com have been graded and posted but videos submitted on CD/DVD are still being graded
Common mistakes and point deductions included
- Mixing up "Transcription" and "Replication"
- Using poorly constructed or inaccurate models in your video
- Incorrect use of vocabulary in the video
- Inaccurate representation of transcription and translation
- Moving tRNA to new codons and mismatched tRNA
If you submitted your video to vimeo and don't see a grade, please Email csaikin@houstonisd.org and include the link to your vimeo video
Reading Guides
Chapter 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19-21 must all be turned in on turnitin.com to receive credit for any.
If this was not done, turning in 1 would get you the same grade as turning in 6, and that just isn't fair. The other alternative is to give zeros when they aren't turned in, but that option is not preferable to most.
If you have an EXC, this means you either did not turn in all the guides or too much of your reading guide was copied directly from another source.
Please check for mistakes on your cycle 3 grade
Magnet Biology
Brochure grades have been posted.
- If you did not put your name on your brochure or did not turn one in, your grade is "0"
- Please check your average and make sure all grades are accurate

Keep the following MLA guidelines in mind
1. Double-space the text of your paper, and use a legible font (e.g. Times New Roman). Whatever font you choose, MLA recommends that the regular and italics type styles contrast enough that they are recognizable one from another. The font size should be 12 pt.
2. Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks (unless otherwise instructed by your instructor).
3. Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides.
4. Indent the first line of paragraphs one half-inch from the left margin. MLA recommends that you use the Tab key as opposed to pushing the Space Bar five times.
5. Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin. (Note: Your instructor may ask that you omit the number on your first page. Always follow your instructor's guidelines.)
6. Use italics throughout your essay for the titles of longer works and, only when absolutely necessary, providing emphasis.
7. The Title page, Abstract and References should each have their own page

Complete Formal Lab Report
--Due Date now Oct. 1 at 11:59 PM for all classes
